The LTC4252-2CMS#PBF: Single-channel negative-voltage hot swap controller for -48 V telecom and datacom backplane applications. Drives an external N-channel MOSFET to manage inrush current and protect against overcurrent and short circuits.

The controller's programmable UVLO and OVP let you set the undervoltage and overvoltage thresholds with an external resistor divider, matching the -48 V rail's tolerance band. The current-limit and fault-timeout pins set the inrush profile and the interval before the part declares a fault. Auto Retry means the board does not need a power-cycle or manual reset after a transient overload — the controller will keep trying to bring the load up.
