Charge-pump LED driver in a 3×2 mm DFN
The LTC3212EDDB#TRMPBF: Each output channel delivers 25 mA, with the internal switches handling the current path directly. The 900 kHz switching frequency allows small external capacitors, keeping the bill-of-materials compact for the 12-DFN (3×2 mm) footprint.
Three regulated channels at 5.1 V — what the rail means for the LEDs
The 5.1 V regulated output suits a series-string LED configuration where each channel's forward voltage sums to under 5 V, with the charge pump providing the overhead for current regulation. The 25 mA per channel figure is the regulated current — the driver sinks current from the LED cathode, so the LED's forward voltage must stay below the output rail minus the headroom of the internal current sink. With three independent outputs, the LTC3212 can drive a red-green-blue (RGB) indicator or three separate backlight strings from a single Li-ion cell.
The tape-and-reel packaging (TR suffix) matches standard pick-and-place feeders. The Cut Tape (CT) option is available for prototyping or low-volume builds.
