What this 4-digit LED driver does on the board
The ICM7212AMIJL is a display decoder/driver that takes a BCD input and drives a 4-digit, 7-segment LED display directly — no external digit drivers or current-limiting resistors needed for common-cathode multiplexed panels. It operates from a 4V to 6V supply rail and draws up to 200 mA when all segments are lit, which sets the power budget for the display section of the board. The -20°C to +85°C operating range covers industrial control panels and test equipment that live in unconditioned enclosures.
Package and board-fit — 44-PLCC J-Lead
Supplied in Bulk tube packaging, not tape-and-reel, so it suits manual placement or low-volume reflow runs.
Lifecycle and compliance reality
RoHS non-compliant, so it is not suitable for EU RoHS-required builds; confirm your exemption or use a lead-free alternative if the BOM requires it.
