10kHz programmable oscillator in 8-SOIC
The DS1050Z-010+ is a programmable timer IC from Analog Devices that generates a 10kHz square-wave output. It belongs to the Clock & Timing ICs category and is intended for timing, delay, and pulse-generation functions on a PCB. It operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply, drawing just 50µA typical supply current — low enough for battery-powered or always-on subsystems where the timer must run continuously without draining the rail. Housed in an 8-SOIC package (0.154" width, 3.90mm body), it fits standard surface-mount assembly flows and occupies minimal board area.
Supply current and voltage range
At 50µA supply current and a 2.7V minimum operating voltage, the DS1050Z-010+ can run directly from a 3V coin cell or a 3.3V regulated rail without a separate LDO. The 5.5V maximum allows operation from a 5V logic supply as well. The wide 2.7V–5.5V range means the same BOM line serves systems with mixed voltage domains — no need for a level translator on the timer output if the downstream logic matches the supply voltage.
