Quad SPST-NO analog switch for signal routing
The Maxim Integrated DG212CSE+ is a quad single-pole single-throw normally-open (SPST-NO) analog switch in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package. It integrates four independent 1:1 switch channels, each with a maximum on-state resistance of 175 ohms. Typical applications include audio and video signal routing, data acquisition systems, and sample-and-hold circuits where low crosstalk and fast switching are required.
Dual-supply operation and single-supply possibility
The DG212CSE+ is specified for dual-supply operation from ±4.5V to ±18V. It can also be used with a single supply by tying the negative rail to ground, though the datasheet's dual-supply ratings define the linearity and on-resistance flatness. In a single-supply configuration, the analog signal range is limited to the positive rail only, and the switch performance parameters like crosstalk and charge injection may differ from the dual-supply case.
Switching speed and isolation
Turn-on time is 1 µs maximum, turn-off time 500 ns maximum, suitable for audio multiplexing and moderate-speed data acquisition. Channel-to-channel crosstalk is rated at -90 dB at 100 kHz, providing good isolation for analog signals in that frequency range. Off-channel leakage is 5 nA maximum, and channel capacitance is 5 pF on both source and drain sides, which helps maintain signal integrity in high-impedance circuits.
Lifecycle and compliance
The DG212CSE+ carries an active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant, meeting the latest EU restriction-of-hazardous-substances directive. No end-of-life notification or last-time-buy schedule has been issued.
