Selectable range and sensitivity trade-off
The sensitivity scales inversely with range: 256 LSB/g at ±2g, dropping to 32 LSB/g at ±16g. For a tilt-sensing application expecting under ±2g, the ±2g setting gives the finest resolution. For a shock or vibration capture where peaks may exceed 8g, the ±16g range avoids clipping at the cost of coarser step size. The adjustable bandwidth lets you filter out mechanical noise above the signal of interest — 0.05 Hz for static tilt, up to 1.6 kHz for machinery vibration analysis.
