Digital isolator with onboard isolated power
It delivers 2500 Vrms isolation and supports a data rate of 25 Mbps, making it suitable for breaking ground loops and providing galvanic isolation in industrial fieldbus interfaces, motor drive feedback paths, and isolated sensor data links.
At 25 Mbps, this part comfortably handles SPI clock rates up to 25 MHz, full-speed CAN (1 Mbps with margin), and RS-485 links at typical baud rates. The unidirectional channel arrangement (1 input on side 1, 1 input on side 2) fits isolated data and a separate isolated control signal. Propagation delay is 60 ns max in either direction, and pulse-width distortion stays under 6 ns — tight enough for most synchronous serial interfaces without bit-error issues.
Supply rails and isolation voltage
The 2500 Vrms isolation rating provides basic insulation for equipment rated up to 300 V working voltage per IEC 60950-1. Common-mode transient immunity is a minimum 25 kV/µs, which keeps data intact during fast voltage transients on the isolation barrier — important for motor-drive and inverter applications.
Lifecycle and sourcing
For dual-sourcing considerations, the ADUM5211CRSZ-RL7 offers a higher-speed 100 Mbps option in the same package, while the ADUM5211ARSZ-RL7 is a lower-speed 1 Mbps alternative — both are functional peers within the IsoPower family.
