3750 Vrms isolation at 1 Mbps — what it buys you
The ADUM3482ARSZ-RL7 is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler series, built around magnetic coupling technology. It delivers 3750 Vrms of galvanic isolation across the barrier while maintaining a 1 Mbps data rate on each channel. The 2/2 input/output split (Side 1/Side 2) suits it for splitting a bus or isolating two signals on each side. Propagation delay is 90 ns max in either direction, with pulse width distortion held to 6 ns max — tight enough for SPI and UART links where edge symmetry matters.
Supply flexibility and temperature range
That means it can bridge a 1.8 V MCU domain to a 5 V peripheral bus without a separate level shifter. Rise and fall times are 2.5 ns typical, keeping the edges clean at 1 Mbps without excessive EMI.
Common-mode transient immunity — 25 kV/µs
With a minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 25 kV/µs, this isolator handles fast voltage transients across the barrier — the kind you see in motor drives, inverter stages, and switched-mode power supplies where high dV/dt couples across the isolation gap. That rating is the practical limit for reliable data transmission in those environments.
Package and mounting
Supplied in a 20-lead SSOP package (0.209" body width, 5.30 mm) for surface-mount assembly. The 20-SSOP footprint is shared with other ADI isolators in the same channel count, so a board layout can often accommodate alternate density options.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
