Four-channel digital isolator for mixed-voltage isolation
The ADUM3481BRSZ-RL7: 4-channel unidirectional digital isolator with 3750Vrms isolation and 25Mbps data rate.
25Mbps with 33ns prop delay — what it buys the bus
At 25Mbps the ADUM3481 handles SPI clocks up to 12.5MHz (half-cycle sampling), UART at standard baud rates, and parallel GPIO strobes without timing margin trouble. The 33ns max propagation delay in both directions is symmetric, so you don't need to deskew the channel for half-duplex links. Rise and fall times are 2.5ns typical — fast enough to avoid edge-rate jitter on short PCB traces, but not so fast that you need series termination on every run under 5cm. The 3ns pulse-width distortion ceiling means the duty cycle stays within a few percent of 50/50, which matters if you're passing a PWM signal or a Manchester-encoded data stream.
3750Vrms and 25kV/µs CMTI — isolation for industrial and automotive domains
The 3750Vrms isolation rating is a reinforced-grade level for 240VAC mains-touched circuits (motor drives, power inverters, off-line supplies). The 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity is the spec that keeps the data link alive when a SiC or IGBT switch transitions at tens of kV/µs — a standard requirement for gate-driver feedback and phase-current sensing in traction inverters.
