What this ADUM3400ARWZ digital isolator does on your board
The ADI ADUM3400ARWZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator using iCoupler magnetic coupling technology. It provides 2500Vrms isolation between the input and output sides.
The 1Mbps data rate is the maximum guaranteed throughput per channel. Propagation delay is 100ns max (tpLH/tpHL), and pulse-width distortion is 40ns max.
Package and footprint: 16-SOIC wide-body
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide-body (0.295-inch body width, 7.50mm), the ADUM3400ARWZ uses the standard SOIC-16W footprint. The wide-body package provides the creepage distance needed to maintain the 2500Vrms isolation rating across the barrier. Surface-mount only — no through-hole option.
Supply voltage and temperature range
Operates from 3V to 5.5V on both sides — same supply rail or split supplies, as long as each side stays within that range. Common-mode transient immunity is 25kV/µs minimum, which keeps the output stable during fast voltage transients across the isolation barrier — important in motor-drive or inverter environments.
