SPI isolator with seven channels and 34 Mbps throughput
The Analog Devices ADUM3151BRSZ-RL7 is a 7-channel SPI digital isolator from the iCoupler® SPIsolator™ family, built on magnetic coupling technology. It supports unidirectional data transfer at up to 34 Mbps, with 3750 Vrms isolation between the two sides. The 5/2 input split (side 1/side 2) maps naturally to the SPI bus: three clock/data/select lines plus two auxiliary signals on the controller side, and two return lines (MISO plus one extra) on the peripheral side.
Propagation delay and timing margin
Maximum propagation delay is 14 ns in both directions, with pulse-width distortion held to 2 ns. Rise and fall times are 2.5 ns typical. For a 34 Mbps SPI link (29.4 ns bit period), the 14 ns delay consumes about half the bit time, leaving roughly 15 ns for setup and hold at the receiver — workable with most MCU SPI peripherals, but check the combined budget if the bus also passes through connectors or long traces. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity handles the fast switching edges in motor-drive and inverter environments without corrupting the data.
Package and temperature grade
Housed in a 20-lead SSOP (5.30 mm body width), surface-mount only. Store the reels dry; if the moisture-barrier bag is compromised, bake per J-STD-033 before reflow.
Lifecycle and supply position
It is a current-production part from Analog Devices, available through independent distribution. For BOM planning, this is not a part you need to stockpile against obsolescence — it will still be buyable in five years.
