Four forward channels at 150 Mbps with 5000 Vrms isolation
The ADUM240E0BRWZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to transfer data across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier. It delivers 150 Mbps per channel with typical rise/fall times of 2.5 ns and a max propagation delay of 13 ns, making it suitable for high-speed serial interfaces like SPI or parallel buses where galvanic isolation is required for safety or ground-loop breaking.
CMTI and pulse-width distortion — the motor-drive specs
Common-mode transient immunity is rated at a minimum 75 kV/µs, which is the figure that matters when the isolator sits between a high-side gate driver and a controller in a motor-drive or inverter stage — fast switching edges on the power stage can otherwise couple false edges across the barrier. Pulse-width distortion is held to 3 ns max, so the duty cycle of a PWM signal is preserved within a narrow window, important for accurate timing in isolated gate-drive or ADC trigger paths.
All channels forward — no reverse lane
All four channels are configured as inputs on Side 1 and outputs on Side 2 (4/0 split). If your application needs bidirectional data on a single channel — for example, a half-duplex RS-485 bus — the ADUM242E0BRIZ offers a 2/2 input/output split that provides two forward and two reverse channels in the same 16-SOIC footprint. For a 3-channel forward-only requirement, the ADUM230E1BRIZ drops one channel but keeps the same 150 Mbps data rate and 5000 Vrms isolation rating.
