Common-mode transient immunity in noisy environments
With a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 25kV/µs, the ADUM2401BRIZ can reject fast voltage transients that couple across the isolation barrier — the kind generated by IGBT switching in a motor drive or by a flyback converter's primary-side FET. If your system sees dV/dt above that figure (common in SiC or GaN stages above 50V/ns), the isolator may latch or corrupt data; step up to a part with higher CMTI or add external common-mode filtering.
Supply voltage and temperature range
Both sides operate from 2.7V to 5.5V, so the part can bridge a 3.3V MCU domain to a 5V peripheral or vice versa without a level shifter. If your application runs above 105°C ambient, look at the AEC-qualified variants in the same family.
Package and footprint considerations
Housed in a 16-SOIC wide-body (7.50mm width) package, the ADUM2401BRIZ requires a PCB footprint with 1.27mm pitch. The wide-body SOIC provides the creepage distance needed to maintain the 5000Vrms isolation rating across the board — don't substitute a narrow-body SOIC footprint without re-evaluating clearance.
