Four-channel unidirectional barrier with 5000 Vrms isolation
The ADUM2400BRWZ-RL is a 4-channel digital isolator from the iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to transfer digital signals across a galvanic isolation barrier rated at 5000 Vrms. All four channels are unidirectional from side 1 to side 2, making it a straight drop-in for isolating SPI, UART, or general-purpose parallel signals where the data flow is one-way. The 10 Mbps data rate supports most industrial communication buses without bottlenecking the link.
Common-mode transient immunity is specified at a minimum 25 kV/µs, which means the isolator holds its output state when a fast voltage transient slams across the barrier — exactly the condition in a motor-drive inverter leg or a switched-mode power supply. Propagation delay is 50 ns max in either direction, tight enough for most control loops but worth budgeting in the timing closure if the feedback path includes this isolator. Pulse-width distortion is held to 3 ns max, so duty-cycle-sensitive signals like PWM or Manchester-encoded data pass through with minimal skew.
The wide-body 16-SOIC (7.50 mm width) package provides the creepage distance needed to sustain the 5000 Vrms rating in the end application.
