Two channels of reinforced isolation at 10 Mbps
The ADUM2200BRWZ is a 2-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler® family, built with magnetic coupling technology. It delivers 5000Vrms isolation between input and output sides, making it a fit for safety-rated barriers in industrial, medical, and power-conversion systems where galvanic isolation is mandatory. The 10 Mbps data rate handles typical SPI, UART, and general-purpose logic-level signals without adding significant skew — propagation delay is 50 ns max, and pulse-width distortion stays under 3 ns.
25 kV/µs CMTI — why it matters for motor drives and inverters
Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 25 kV/µs minimum. In a motor-drive or inverter application where the switching node slews several hundred volts in nanoseconds, that figure tells you the isolator won't glitch or lose data across the isolation barrier. The 50 ns propagation delay is symmetric (tpLH = tpHL), which simplifies timing closure in half-bridge gate-drive feedback paths.
Supply range and logic compatibility
The inputs on Side 1 are two, Side 2 has zero — meaning all channels run in the same direction (Side 1 to Side 2). This unidirectional arrangement is typical for isolating sensor outputs, control signals, or data lines where the return path doesn't need isolation.
Package and rework — the wide-body SOIC
The wide body gives better creepage distance for the 5000Vrms rating than a narrow SOIC would.
Temperature grade and environment
The 5000Vrms isolation is tested per basic/reinforced standards — suitable for mains-connected equipment where the safety barrier must hold off transient overvoltages.
Lifecycle and sourcing
ADI lists the ADUM2200BRWZ as Active product status and ROHS3 compliant.
