Five-channel isolator for high-speed signal isolation
The Analog Devices ADUM150N0BRZ is a 5-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to transfer data across a 3000 Vrms isolation barrier. It supports data rates up to 150 Mbps with 13 ns propagation delay and 4.5 ns pulse-width distortion, making it suitable for isolating high-speed interfaces such as SPI, UART, and industrial backplane signals. All five channels are configured with inputs on side 1 and outputs on side 2 — a fixed direction that suits data-flow paths from a controller to isolated peripherals.
75 kV/µs CMTI — noise immunity in motor drives and inverters
Common-mode transient immunity is rated at a minimum 75 kV/µs. In a variable-frequency motor drive or solar inverter, fast-switching IGBTs and SiC FETs can inject several kV/µs of common-mode voltage across the isolation barrier. A CMTI rating this high means the ADUM150N0BRZ maintains data integrity without bit errors or latch-up, even when the ground plane between the two sides slews aggressively. This is the spec that separates a robust industrial isolator from a part that glitches on the first inverter pulse.
Temperature range and supply — fits industrial and automotive environments
The 16-SOIC package (3.90 mm width) is a common footprint for multi-channel isolators, and the surface-mount assembly is straightforward for standard reflow profiles.
