150 Mbps magnetic-coupled isolator for mixed-voltage industrial interfaces
The Analog Devices ADUM142D1BRQZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family, built on magnetic coupling technology. It delivers a 150 Mbps data rate across a 3000 Vrms isolation barrier, with propagation delay held to 13 ns max on both edges and pulse-width distortion under 3 ns. Typical applications include SPI bus isolation, general-purpose signal isolation in motor drives, PLC I/O modules, and isolated sensor interfaces where the 75 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity keeps data intact through fast-switching inverter stages.
75 kV/µs CMTI — survives the switching noise of motor drives and inverters
Common-mode transient immunity of 75 kV/µs minimum means the isolator won't latch or corrupt data when a 1000 V/µs switching edge slams across the barrier. This is the spec that separates a general-purpose isolator from one you can use in a variable-frequency drive or a solar inverter without external filtering.
The 1.7 V minimum supply lets the ADUM142D1BRQZ connect directly to a 1.8 V FPGA or MCU I/O bank without a secondary regulator. At the top end, 5.5 V covers legacy 5 V logic and industrial sensor rails. The 2/2 input/output split (two channels each direction) maps cleanly to a standard SPI bus: SCLK and MOSI on Side 1, MISO and chip-select on Side 2.
Active lifecycle — no EOL clock ticking
ADI lists the ADUM142D1BRQZ as Active product status.
