The ADUM140D1BRWZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from ADI's iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to pass signals across a 3750 Vrms isolation barrier at up to 150 Mbps. The 75 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) means it holds its data integrity through fast-switching inverter edges and motor-drive noise — a spec that matters more than the raw data rate when the board shares a ground with a VFD or a half-bridge.
All four inputs on one side — routing simplicity
Channel configuration is 4 inputs on side 1, 0 on side 2, all unidirectional. That means the isolator passes four signals in one direction only — typical for an isolated SPI bus (SCLK, MOSI, CS, and a data-ready line) or a set of GPIOs from a controller to a remote ADC or DAC. No bidirectional channels to manage, no direction-control pin to toggle.
Propagation delay and timing margin
Max propagation delay is 13 ns in both directions, with a 3 ns pulse-width distortion. Rise and fall times are 2.5 ns typical.
Temperature range and environments
The 125°C ceiling means it survives next to a hot power stage or inside a sealed enclosure without derating the isolation voltage.
