The ADUM1400WSRWZ-RL is a four-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler® family, built on magnetic coupling technology. It provides galvanic isolation up to 2500 Vrms between two power domains, passing digital signals at up to 1 Mbps with typical rise/fall times of 2.5 ns. All four channels are oriented from Side 1 to Side 2 (4/0 input/output configuration), making it a straight-through isolator for unidirectional data paths like SPI, GPIO, or sensor interfaces.
Automotive grade and temperature range
Rated as Automotive grade, this part is qualified for use in vehicle electronics and other harsh environments that require extended temperature operation.
The 2500 Vrms isolation voltage provides basic insulation for 240 VAC mains-referenced circuits, suitable for many industrial and automotive systems that need a reinforced barrier. The 25 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) is the spec that matters in inverter and motor-drive environments: fast-switching SiC or IGBT stages can inject several kV/µs across the isolation barrier, and this part's CMTI rating ensures data integrity through those events. Propagation delay is 100 ns max (both directions), which keeps timing margin healthy for 1 Mbps SPI buses and most GPIO-level handshakes.
Supply voltage and logic compatibility
Because the inputs and outputs are unidirectional, you can run Side 1 at 3.3 V and Side 2 at 5 V (or vice versa) as long as each side's supply stays within the common range. This simplifies mixed-voltage designs common in automotive ECUs where a 3.3 V MCU talks to a 5 V sensor or actuator.
Package and footprint
The wide-body gives better creepage distance for high-voltage applications compared to the narrow SOIC-16.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant.
