Boost driver for multi-string backlights
The ADP5501ACPZ-RL is a DC-DC boost regulator with four regulated current-sink outputs, each driving a string of white LEDs in series. With integrated switches, the bill of materials stays compact: no external FETs or boost diodes beyond the inductor, sense resistor, and input/output capacitors.
Supply rail and output count
The four outputs each sink a programmed current, letting the designer drive four independent LED strings — typical for a notebook or monitor backlight where the panel has multiple CCFL-replacement or white-LED rows. The 24-LFCSP-VQ (4x4) footprint is a 0.5 mm pitch QFN — the centre pad is the thermal and electrical ground. Cut Tape (CT) packaging suits prototype and low-volume builds where a full reel is not needed.
