4A peak gate drive — what it buys you
The ADP3654ARDZ is a dual low-side MOSFET driver from Analog Devices, designed to drive N-channel power MOSFETs. Each of the two independent channels delivers 4A peak source and sink current with 10ns typ rise and fall times.
Supply rail and temperature envelope
The 4.5V to 18V supply range covers the common gate drive rails: 5V for logic-level FETs, 12V for standard MOSFETs, and 15V for IGBTs or high-Vth devices.
Logic thresholds and input compatibility
The logic input thresholds — VIL at 0.8V, VIH at 2V — are compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic families from MCUs, DSPs, and PWM controllers. A 3.3V PWM output from a Cortex-M4 or a C2000 DSP drives the VIH threshold with margin. The 0.8V VIL means the input stays low even with ground bounce up to 0.8V, which helps in noisy power-stage layouts.
Package and mounting — Tube vs reel variants
The ADP3654ARDZ ships in Tube, which is the standard for prototype quantities and small-batch production. The same die in the same 8-SOIC-EP package is also available as ADP3654ARDZ-R7 on 7-inch reels and ADP3654ARDZ-RL on 13-inch reels. All three share identical electrical specs — the only difference is the shipping medium. For a panel already laid out for the -R7 reel variant, the ADP3654ARDZ Tube part drops in without any board or BOM change; the package footprint is identical.
