What this LVDS isolator brings to the isolation barrier
The ADN4621BRSZ is a dual-channel, unidirectional LVDS isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler® family, built with magnetic coupling technology. It pushes 2.5 Gbps per channel with a propagation delay of just 2.8 ns max, making it suitable for high-speed serial links where timing margin is tight. The 3750 Vrms isolation rating and 35 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) mean it can sit on a motor-drive or inverter isolation barrier without losing data during fast dV/dt events. The 20-SSOP package (5.30 mm width) fits a standard surface-mount footprint.
2.5 Gbps and 35 kV/µs CMTI — the specs that matter for a motor-drive isolation barrier
Compared to the ADN4651BRWZ (600 Mbps, 5000 Vrms, 25 kV/µs CMTI) and the ADN4654BRWZ (1.25 Gbps, 5000 Vrms, 25 kV/µs CMTI), the ADN4621BRSZ more than doubles the data rate and raises the CMTI to 35 kV/µs. The trade-off is a lower isolation voltage (3750 Vrms versus 5000 Vrms), but for most industrial applications 3750 Vrms is sufficient for basic or functional isolation. The ADN4652BRSZ-RL7 offers the same 3750 Vrms package but at 600 Mbps and 25 kV/µs CMTI. If you need the highest data rate and best transient immunity in the 20-SSOP footprint, the ADN4621BRSZ is the pick.
