Single-pair Ethernet PHY for industrial links
The ADIN1100BCPZ is a 10BASE-T1L single-pair Ethernet transceiver from Analog Devices, designed to deliver 10 Mbps over a single twisted pair — the cable plant that replaces legacy fieldbus wiring in process automation and building control. It supports both full and half-duplex operation, so the link can simultaneously send and receive or alternate as the network topology demands. The three supply voltage domains (1V–1.2V core, 1.71V–3.46V I/O, 3.13V–3.46V transceiver) require separate regulation — a single 3.3V rail alone does not satisfy all pins.
At 10 Mbps, the ADIN1100BCPZ is not a high-speed industrial Ethernet PHY (100BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T). It targets the 10BASE-T1L standard (IEEE 802.3cg-2019), which trades throughput for reach — up to 1 km over a single pair. If your application needs 100 Mbps or more, this part is the wrong fit; look at the ADIN1300 or ADIN1200 series instead. Full-duplex mode allows simultaneous transmit and receive on the same pair, which halves the cable count compared to half-duplex links that must time-share the medium. The 1/1 driver/receiver count confirms a single differential pair on the MDI side — no separate TX/RX pairs as in 100BASE-TX.
