Active PLL synthesizer for RF local-oscillator generation
The ADF4118BRUZ-RL is a PLL-based clock/frequency synthesizer (RF) from Analog Devices, designed to generate local-oscillator signals up to 3 GHz. It accepts CMOS or TTL reference inputs and outputs a single clock. The 2:1 input-to-output ratio allows selecting between two reference sources.
3 GHz ceiling and wide supply range
The 3 GHz maximum frequency suits it for synthesizing LO signals in wireless infrastructure, test equipment, and satellite downconverters. The supply range of 2.7V to 5.5V lets it run from a 3.3V or 5V rail without an extra regulator — a clean fit for mixed-voltage boards. Compared to the ADF4111BRUZ-RL7, which tops out at 1.4 GHz, the ADF4118BRUZ-RL covers higher-frequency bands. The ADF4112BRUZ-REEL7 also reaches 3 GHz and is a pin-compatible alternative with a different divider ratio set — check the N-divider range if you need a specific frequency step size.
