What this PLL clock generator does for your timing chain
The Analog Devices AD9549ABCPZ-REEL7 is a single-circuit PLL clock generator and synchronizer built for Ethernet, SONET/SDH, and Stratum timing applications. It accepts CMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL reference inputs and delivers CMOS or HSTL outputs, with a 2:2 input-to-output ratio and fully differential signal paths on both sides.
725 MHz max frequency — what it buys you
The 725 MHz ceiling on the output covers 10GbE and OC-192 line rates with margin. If your design needs a 622.08 MHz or 644.53125 MHz clock for a SONET/SDH framer or a Stratum-3E holdover oscillator, this PLL synthesizes it directly without an external VCXO multiplier stage. The differential output (HSTL or CMOS) keeps jitter low enough for the SERDES reference on most mid-range FPGAs.
Package and thermal: 64-LFCSP with exposed pad
Surface-mount only; no through-hole option.
The part can be designed into new builds without planning for an end-of-life migration.
