Precision chopper amplifier for low-drift signal chains
Its auto-zero architecture holds input offset voltage to 3 µV typical and input bias current to 1 pA, eliminating the need for periodic calibration in weigh scales, thermocouple interfaces, and medical instrumentation. The rail-to-rail output stage swings within millivolts of both supply rails, maximizing dynamic range in single-supply 5 V to 16 V systems. With a gain-bandwidth product of 1.5 MHz and slew rate of 2V/µs, it handles low-frequency precision loops without sacrificing settling time.
Temperature range and package — industrial-grade in a compact footprint
The 8-LFCSP-WD (3x3 mm) package with exposed pad pulls heat into the PCB ground plane, keeping junction temperature in check even with both channels driving 37 mA loads. The small footprint — 3x3 mm — saves board space compared to SOIC-8 alternatives, though the pad requires a thermal via pattern for full dissipation.
Design-in note: supply decoupling and thermal pad
The 5 V to 16 V supply range covers common rails — 5 V, 9 V, 12 V, 15 V — without an extra regulator. Place a 0.1 µF ceramic close to each supply pin and a 10 µF bulk cap nearby. MSL 3 out of the bag — bake before reflow if the moisture-barrier bag has been open past the floor-life window.
