Precision differential amplifier for industrial ADC drive
The AD8476ARMZ-RL: Its 5 MHz -3 dB bandwidth and 10 V/µs slew rate are sized for settling 16-bit conversions at moderate throughput rates — not for video or RF, but exactly the dynamic range a precision signal chain needs. The rail-to-rail differential output lets the part swing full scale into a 5 V or ±15 V ADC input range without extra level shifting. Supply voltage spans 3 V to 18 V, covering single 5 V industrial rails and dual ±15 V supplies equally well. Quiescent current is 330 µA per channel, which keeps multiple amplifiers on a densely populated board within the thermal budget.
At 10 V/µs, the AD8476ARMZ-RL can settle a 10 V step in roughly 1 µs. The 5 MHz bandwidth acts as a natural low-pass filter, cleaning up the signal before it hits the ADC input.
Package and rework considerations
Housed in an 8-MSOP package, the AD8476ARMZ-RL is straightforward to hand-rework with a hot-air station.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
