What the current output and accuracy mean on the bench
The AD592ANZ outputs an analog current proportional to absolute temperature, not a voltage — this means the signal is inherently immune to voltage drops along long cable runs, a common headache when routing a sensor signal across a noisy backplane or through a harness to a remote ADC. Accuracy is specified at ±2.5°C at 25°C test condition, which is the grade for general-purpose thermal monitoring — adequate for overtemperature protection or airflow sensing, but not for a precision thermocouple cold-junction compensation where ±0.5°C is needed.
Package and mounting for the rework bench
Through-hole TO-92-3 package — three leads, 0.1-inch pitch, the same footprint as a small-signal transistor. On a repair bench, that means you can dead-bug it onto a scrap of perfboard or pull it from a dead board and socket it for testing without a hot-air station. Supplied in bulk, not tape-and-reel — expected for a through-hole part. No moisture sensitivity level to track; it lives on the shelf indefinitely and gets soldered with a standard iron at 350°C.
Lifecycle and compliance — still a current design-in
