Precision front-end for industrial signal chains
The AD524CE is a single-channel instrumentation amplifier from Analog Devices, designed for precision analog front-ends where low offset and wide supply flexibility matter. Its 50 µV input offset voltage and 15 nA input bias current keep DC errors small in bridge, strain-gauge, and thermocouple conditioning stages. Supply span from 12 V to 36 V allows operation from common industrial rails or split supplies. The 20-CLCC hermetic ceramic package provides a sealed environment for high-reliability or mission-critical boards.
Supply and temperature range
The 12 V minimum supply span means it works with standard ±6 V or single 12 V rails; the 36 V maximum accommodates 24 V industrial buses with headroom. Quiescent supply current is 3.5 mA, reasonable for multi-channel systems where per-channel power budget matters.
Housed in a 20-CLCC (8.89x8.89 mm) ceramic leadless chip carrier, the AD524CE is surface-mount compatible. The hermetic ceramic body suits applications where moisture or outgassing is a concern — avionics, downhole tools, or sealed modules. The supplier device package code is 20-CLCC (8.89x8.89).
Note that it is RoHS non-compliant, which may restrict use in regions enforcing RoHS exemptions or requiring lead-free assembly. For new designs requiring RoHS compliance, a lead-free variant or alternative should be evaluated.
