Active production, single-rail analog temperature sensor
The AD22100KRZ is an active-production analog temperature sensor from Analog Devices, delivering a ratiometric output of 22.5 mV per °C from a single 4 V to 6.5 V supply. The 8-SOIC package holds a local sensor calibrated for 0°C to 100°C, with the part specified to operate across -50°C to 150°C.
22.5 mV/°C output scale and ±2°C accuracy at 25°C
The sensor outputs an analog voltage proportional to temperature at 22.5 mV/°C, measured at a 25°C test condition. At 0°C the output is nominally 0 V (scaled from the supply midpoint), rising to 2.25 V at 100°C — a span that maps directly into a 0–5 V ADC input without external amplification. Accuracy is ±2°C at 25°C, which sets the measurement uncertainty floor for a single-point calibration. Over the full -50°C to 150°C operating range the error widens, but the 25°C figure is the one to budget for room-temperature test and alignment.
Supply flexibility and deployment envelope
The 4 V to 6.5 V supply range lets the AD22100KRZ run from a 5 V rail common in industrial control, or from a 3.3 V system with a boost. The output swings ratiometrically with the supply, so a 5 V rail gives the full 0–100°C span at 0–2.25 V; a 4 V rail scales the output proportionally. The -50°C to 150°C operating temperature covers cold-chain storage, engine-bay monitoring, and process control thermocouple replacement. The local sensing range is 0°C to 100°C — the calibrated window — but the die itself survives the wider ambient.
