The SN75LBC175AD is a quad differential line receiver from Texas Instruments, designed for balanced multipoint buses using RS-422, RS-423, or RS-485 protocols. It handles data rates up to 50 Mbps, making it suitable for high-speed factory-floor links, building automation backbones, and instrumentation networks where the bus is differential and the common-mode range needs to handle ground shifts.
That 250 mV guard band on each side means a well-regulated 5 V rail is expected — don't count on this receiver running from a 3.3 V bus or from a loosely regulated 5 V rail that dips below 4.75 V under load. That limits the part to indoor, conditioned environments — not for engine bays, outdoor telecom cabinets, or unheated warehouses. If the ambient on your panel regularly touches 85 °C, this is not the receiver for that slot.
