ZBT SRAM for high-throughput data paths
The 71T75602S166PF is a 18 Mbit synchronous SRAM organized as 512K x 36, built with ZBT (Zero Bus Turnaround) technology. This means the data bus never inserts a dead cycle when switching from read to write — a cycle-by-cycle throughput advantage over standard pipelined SRAMs in networking and telecom line cards where every clock edge carries data.
Timing and supply rails
Rated for a 166 MHz clock and a 3.5 ns access time — the access window sets the setup-and-hold budget at the controller side. The supply range is 2.375 V to 2.625 V, a ±5 % window around 2.5 V; a clean rail with <50 mV ripple is needed to hold the timing spec across temperature.
Supplied in a 100-LQFP package with a 100-TQFP (14x14 mm) body. The 0.5 mm pitch is hand-solderable under a microscope and routes out on a 4-layer board with blind vias for the inner rows. The parallel memory interface uses the full 36-bit data bus plus address lines — fan-out density is the limiting factor on layer count.
Lifecycle and compliance
RoHS non-compliant, which means the solder balls or die-attach material contain lead; this is acceptable under many industrial and telecom exemptions but must be flagged for EU RoHS 2011/65/EU compliance audits.
