Kinetis KL2 MCU for industrial control and USB-connected edge nodes
The NXP MKL26Z256VMC4R is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontroller from the Kinetis KL2 series, clocked at 48 MHz with 256 KB Flash and 32 KB RAM. It integrates a USB OTG controller with on-chip PHY, plus I²C, SPI, UART, and LINbus interfaces for sensor aggregation and actuator control. The 80 GPIO pins and 16-bit ADC / 12-bit DAC suit mixed-signal applications like motor feedback, portable instrumentation, or industrial I/O modules. Operating from 1.71 V to 3.6 V and rated from -40°C to 105°C, it fits into outdoor telecom cabinets, engine-bay electronics, and factory-floor enclosures without forced air.
USB OTG and peripheral set
The on-chip USB OTG controller with integrated PHY eliminates an external transceiver, saving board area in portable or battery-powered designs. Connectivity also includes I²C, SPI, UART, and LINbus — covering the common sensor and actuator buses in automotive and industrial networks. DMA and a programmable watchdog offload the core for deterministic response.
