600 MHz Cortex-M7 — compute headroom for real-time edge processing
The NXP MIMXRT1051DVL6A is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M7 microcontroller from the RT1050 series, clocked at 600 MHz single-core. It carries 512 KB of on-chip SRAM and runs program code from external memory — no internal Flash, so the BOM includes a companion SPI or parallel NOR Flash device.
The MIMXRT1051DVL6A boots from external SPI or parallel NOR Flash via the FlexSPI controller. The 512 KB SRAM is available for data and code caching, not for persistent storage.
Connectivity and I/O — gateway-class peripheral set
The part integrates Ethernet MAC, CAN bus, USB OTG, multiple SPI and UART interfaces, plus SDIO and I²C — enough to bridge fieldbus to IP networks without an external communication coprocessor. The 127 I/O lines in a 196-ball LFBGA (10×10 mm) package keep board area tight for space-constrained designs like compact PLCs or vision controllers.
