150 MHz Cortex-M33 — what the core speed buys you
The LPC55S28JBD64K runs a single ARM Cortex-M33 core at 150 MHz. That clock rate puts it in the mid-range performance tier for Cortex-M33 parts — enough to handle a real-time control loop, a protocol stack (USB, SPI, I²C), and moderate DSP work without a separate co-processor. The 512 KB Flash and 256 KB SRAM map supports a single firmware image with room for OTA update staging or a data-log buffer.
The Flexcomm interface can be configured as I²C, SPI, or UART/USART, giving 36 I/O pins flexible assignment. USB and MMC/SD/SDIO are also present, making this part suitable for a human-machine interface with local storage or a USB-connected data logger.
