Peripherals and connectivity — what is on the bus
The Flexcomm interface handles I2C, SPI, and UART/USART on shared pins — you configure each Flexcomm module for the protocol you need, which saves pin count versus dedicated blocks. The CANbus interface is there for industrial automation or vehicle networks; USB gives a direct link to a host for data logging or firmware update. Brown-out detect, POR, and WDT are built in, so an external supervisor IC is optional for most applications. The 10-channel 16-bit SAR ADC is sized for multi-phase current sensing or several analog sensor inputs. Internal oscillator means no external crystal is required for basic operation, though an external clock improves accuracy for time-sensitive protocols.
