The NXP LPC5506JHI48QL is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M33 single-core MCU clocked at 96 MHz, with 256 KB Flash and 96 KB RAM. It targets industrial control, motor drive, and automotive-adjacent applications where a secure, power-efficient Cortex-M33 core with CANBus and flexible serial interfaces is needed. Memory sizing — 256 KB Flash, 96 KB RAM
256 KB Flash fits a typical FreeRTOS application with a CANopen stack, a Modbus RTU slave, and a few hundred lines of application code. 96 KB RAM is generous for this class — enough for double-buffered ADC data, a small display frame buffer, or a TCP/IP stack with a couple of sockets. If the firmware needs over-the-air updates, the 256 KB Flash leaves room for a bootloader and two application slots only if the code is lean.

CANBus is present for industrial automation and automotive networks. Flexcomm ports can be configured as I²C, SPI, or UART — useful for consolidating BOM when a design needs two different serial protocols on the same pins. Brown-out detect, POR, and watchdog are on-chip, reducing external supervisor ICs.
