This MCU has no internal Flash for program storage — it is ROMless, meaning code must execute from external SPIFI (Serial Peripheral Interface Flash) memory. The SPIFI peripheral is included in the connectivity set, so a single quad-SPI NOR flash part on the PCB handles both code and data storage. Factor that into the BOM: the MCU itself costs less than a Flash-integrated sibling, but you need a companion serial flash device (e.g., 16 MB or 32 MB) and a PCB trace length match for the quad-SPI lines at 180 MHz.
