1.2 µH, 500 mA — what the ratings mean for the BOM
The LQH43NN1R2M03L is a 1.2 µH drum-core wirewound inductor rated for 500 mA continuous current, with a maximum DC resistance of 200 mOhm. At full rated current the self-heating is about 50 mW — enough to raise the part temperature 10–15°C above ambient in still air, so verify the derating against your board's thermal profile. The unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates freely. Keep sensitive analog or RF traces at least 3–5 mm from the footprint, or switch to a shielded variant if crosstalk shows up in testing. Q factor is 20 at 1 MHz — acceptable for power-supply filtering and DC bias decoupling, but not for tuned circuits or narrowband impedance matching where a higher-Q part would be specified.
Tape-and-reel packaging (EIA-481) is standard for volume pick-and-place; cut-tape option available for prototyping or small-batch builds.
