What the 80 mA rating and 8.28 Ω DCR mean on the bench
The LQH43NH391J03L: Rated 80 mA continuous — that is the DC current that raises the temperature by the specified ΔT. The 8.28 Ω max DCR means at full rated current the self-heating is I²R = 53 mW, which is manageable in free air but needs a look at the board copper if you're stacking several of these in a filter bank. Self-resonant frequency is 3.3 MHz — above that the inductor looks capacitive. For a buck converter switching at 500 kHz you have plenty of margin; for a 2 MHz switcher the impedance roll-off starts to eat into the filtering.
AEC-Q200 and the 125 °C ceiling — where this inductor lives
AEC-Q200 qualified means it passed the automotive-grade stress tests: thermal shock, moisture resistance, vibration, and solder heat.
Unshielded construction — placement matters
Unshielded drum-core design means the magnetic field extends beyond the part body. Keep it at least one part-width away from sensitive analog traces, RF paths, or other magnetics to avoid coupling. 1812 (4532 Metric) footprint, 4.50 mm x 3.20 mm, seated height 2.80 mm max — standard reflow profile for a ferrite-core wirewound. No special pad geometry beyond the datasheet land pattern.
