Inductance, current, and DC resistance — the three numbers that decide fit
The LQH43NH152J03L is a drum core wirewound inductor from Murata's LQH43 series, built on a ferrite core and unshielded. Its 1.5 mH inductance at 1 kHz test frequency with ±5% tolerance targets filtering and resonant circuit applications where the inductance value must stay tight across temperature and bias. Rated current is 35 mA, with a maximum DC resistance of 28.44 Ohm. The DCR is the primary loss term at DC — at 35 mA, I²R loss is about 35 mW, which is manageable in the 1812 body but means this part is not for power rail filtering where the DC bias current exceeds a few tens of mA. Self-resonant frequency is 1.6 MHz, and the Q factor is 40 at 252 kHz. Above 1.6 MHz the inductor behaves capacitively, so the useful filtering band stops well below that — design the LC filter pole below 500 kHz to stay in the inductive region with margin.

The unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates — keep sensitive traces or other inductors at least one body width away to avoid coupling.
