Last-buy lifecycle — procurement timeline
Murata has placed the LQH3NPN221MGRL into Last Buy status — this is the final production window before the part becomes obsolete. Orders placed now are covered by the remaining manufacturing run; once Murata closes the last-time-buy window, the only supply channel will be surplus inventory.
220 µH, 150 mA — what the ratings mean for your rail
Rated for 150 mA continuous current with a saturation current (Isat) of 120 mA — the core saturates before the thermal limit is reached, so the usable current in a DC-DC converter is capped by Isat, not the 150 mA thermal rating. The 9 Ohm DCR is high for a power rail; this part is suited for low-current filtering or signal-line chokes where series resistance is tolerable. Shielded ferrite core construction contains the magnetic flux within the 3.00 mm × 3.00 mm footprint — adjacent traces on a dense PCB see less EMI coupling than an unshielded drum core would produce.
The low profile suits tight board-stacking constraints. Tape-and-reel packaging supports automated pick-and-place; the cut-tape option is available for prototyping or low-volume builds.
The self-resonant frequency of 2 MHz means the inductor behaves as an inductor up to roughly that frequency; above 2 MHz parasitic capacitance dominates.
