Product details

10 µH shielded drum-core, 800 mA — selection note

The Murata LQH3NPN100MMEL is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the LQH3 series, rated 10 µH ±20% with a continuous current of 800 mA and a saturation current of 810 mA. The 228 mOhm max DCR is the primary loss mechanism — at 800 mA DC, the I²R loss is about 146 mW, which sets the temperature rise inside the shielded ferrite core. For a buck converter output stage, this DCR directly affects the conduction loss budget. The self-resonant frequency of 20 MHz is well above the typical 500 kHz to 2 MHz switching range of most point-of-load converters, so the inductor's impedance remains inductive across the operating band.

1212 (3030 Metric) SMD — board-fit note

The ferrite core material gives good inductance stability under DC bias compared to powdered-iron cores of the same volume.

Frequently asked questions

What is the self-resonant frequency of LQH3NPN100MMEL?

The self-resonant frequency is 20 MHz. This is well above the typical switching frequency of most DC-DC converters, so the inductor behaves inductively across the operating band.
