6.8 µH, 315 mA — AEC-Q200 wirewound for automotive power and signal filtering
The Murata LQH32NH6R8J23L is a drum core wirewound inductor in the LQH32 series, rated 6.8 µH ±5% at 1 MHz test frequency. It carries a 315 mA current rating with a maximum DC resistance of 432 mOhm.
Self-resonant frequency and Q factor — where the inductor behaves as an inductor
Self-resonant frequency is 45 MHz. Above this frequency the parasitic capacitance between windings dominates and the component behaves capacitively — the useful filtering band stops well below 45 MHz. Q factor is 20 at 1 MHz, which sets the ratio of stored energy to energy dissipated per cycle at that frequency. For a 6.8 µH part this is a moderate Q — adequate for DC-DC input/output filtering and general signal conditioning where low loss matters but not for narrowband resonant tank circuits.
Unshielded drum core — magnetic field extends beyond the package
The unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates outside the ferrite core. Adjacent traces or components within a few millimetres may couple into the field — keep sensitive analog or high-impedance nodes at least one package width away. The nonstandard case designation means the pad layout follows the manufacturer's recommended land pattern, not a generic 1210 chip footprint.
