4.7 µH drum-core selection for DC-DC output filtering
The LQH32CN4R7M33L is a Murata LQH32-series drum-core wirewound inductor rated at 4.7 µH with a ±20% tolerance and a 650 mA DC current rating. Unshielded construction means the magnetic field radiates; keep sensitive traces and low-impedance loops at least one part width away to avoid coupling into the signal path.
Frequency limit and bias current
Self-resonant frequency of 43 MHz marks the upper bound where the inductor's impedance peaks before the parasitic capacitance dominates — stay below 10–15 MHz for a predictable inductive response in a buck converter output filter. Inductance is tested at 1 MHz; the ferrite core material saturates gradually, so the 650 mA rating is the DC bias current at which inductance drops by a defined percentage — derate for ripple current in the application.
