1.5 µH shielded power inductor for automotive DC-DC converters
The Murata DFEH7030D-1R5M=P3 is a 1.5 µH shielded power inductor from the DFEH7030D series, designed for surface-mount power conversion circuits in automotive and industrial applications. Rated for 7.6 A continuous current with a saturation current floor of 9.7 A, this inductor handles the ripple current in a buck converter output filter without saturating the iron powder core during load transients. The 15 mOhm maximum DCR keeps conduction losses low enough that the part stays within its -40°C to +155°C operating range in a 3.0 mm seated height, even under full rated current in an under-hood ambient.
AEC-Q200 qualification and NRND lifecycle
Existing BOM lines can still be sourced through independent distribution, but new designs should evaluate the current active DFEH7030D series variants or a pin-compatible shielded power inductor from the same footprint family. The shielded construction and iron powder core give this inductor a flat inductance-versus-current curve up to saturation — useful for designs where the inductance must hold within ±20% tolerance under bias.
