Murata has flagged the DFEH12060D-1R5M=P3 as Last Buy. This is the final procurement window — once the remaining inventory clears, the part is gone from the authorized channel. For existing designs already qualified on this footprint and inductance value, the Last Buy status means ordering the full lifecycle requirement now is the only way to avoid a last-minute redesign.
17 A continuous, 23 A saturation — the headroom margin
Rated 17 A continuous with a saturation current of 23 A. The 6 A gap between rated and saturation current means the inductor can handle transient overloads without hard saturation — a key margin for motor-drive or DC-DC converter outputs where the peak current exceeds the steady-state average. DCR is 3.6 mOhm max. At 17 A the conduction loss is I²R = 1.04 W — manageable in a 13×12.6 mm shielded package, but the thermal rise at full load should be verified in the end-system airflow. The iron-powder core saturates softly, so the inductance roll-off above 23 A is gradual rather than a cliff.
AEC-Q200 and the 155 °C ceiling
AEC-Q200 qualified — the automotive stress tests (thermal shock, vibration, moisture resistance) are baked in. Shielded construction contains the magnetic field, which matters when the inductor sits next to a CAN transceiver or a sensitive analog front-end on the same PCB.
