The TPSE477K010R0045V: The molded case gives mechanical stability during reflow, and the ±10% tolerance is tight enough for most power rail filtering without overspecifying.
Thermal endurance and temperature range
Rated for 2000 hours at 125°C, this cap handles sustained operation in hot environments — think a power supply near a processor heatsink or a base station amplifier. The -55°C to 125°C operating range covers military and industrial temperature grades, so it survives cold starts and thermal cycling without the capacitance drop you see in ceramics at DC bias. The 45 mOhm ESR is specified at 100 kHz — the frequency where switching regulators generate most of their ripple. At lower frequencies the ESR rises, so for 50/60 Hz bulk filtering you'd need a different part; this one is tuned for DC-DC converter output stages.
Active lifecycle — no rush on the BOM line
The Tape & Reel packaging (Cut Tape also available) means it ships in reel quantities for automated pick-and-place. No special handling beyond standard MSL precautions for molded tantalum caps.
