47 µF, 35 V, 200 mOhm ESR — BOM-fit for low-ESR bulk decoupling
The TPSE476M035R0200: The 200 mOhm ESR is the key parameter for ripple handling: at 100 kHz, a 200 mOhm ESR means the capacitor dissipates I²×0.2 W per amp of ripple current, so a 1 A ripple generates 200 mW of internal heat — well within the molded case's thermal budget for a 125°C ambient, but worth derating if the ripple exceeds 1.5 A continuous.
2917 case, molded — footprint and reflow checklist
The molded construction means the part is self-contained — no conformal-coating issues on the edges, and the standard reflow profile for tantalum capacitors (peak 260°C, 30 s above 217°C) applies. The E case code is the standard 2917 footprint; the pad layout matches the EIA-7343-31 pattern. Surface-mount assembly: the molded body is compatible with standard pick-and-place equipment.
Active lifecycle — sourcing posture for production and MRO
The TPS series is a general-purpose molded tantalum line from KYOCERA AVX. For volume production, a multi-source hedge would require a different series with matching capacitance, voltage, ESR, and case size — confirm with the distributor at RFQ.
