Temperature grade and derating margin
The TPSE336K035R0100V: The -55 to 125 °C operating range covers full industrial and military temperature bands — no derating needed for most environments, but tantalum capacitors require a voltage derating of at least 20 % at 85 °C and 50 % at 125 °C for reliable operation. At 35 V rated, a 125 °C application should not exceed 17.5 V DC bias. The 2000 h lifetime at 125 °C is the accelerated test condition; actual service life at lower temperatures is substantially longer.
PCB footprint and assembly
The molded case is polarity-marked with a stripe on the anode end — reflow profile follows J-STD-020 for a 245 °C peak, with a 60-second soak above 217 °C. Tape-and-reel packaging feeds into pick-and-place at 8 mm pitch on 13-inch reels; the moisture sensitivity level (MSL) is typically 3 for molded tantalums, requiring bake before reflow if the shelf life is exceeded.
